Release of the Current Developments in Arctic Law, Volume 13
The UArctic Thematic Network on Arctic Law is pleased to announce the release of Current Developments in Arctic Law (CDAL), Volume 13, 2025.
This latest open-access volume brings together fourteen contributions, including short academic articles, commentaries, Conference and Workshop reports, and a note from the editor. The collection highlights diverse perspectives on the rapidly changing Arctic and its global connections. Topics range from Indigenous Knowledge and Feminist Standpoint Epistemology to Science Diplomacy in the Cryosphere, with case studies on infrastructure, mining, and climate adaptation that reveal the lived realities of Arctic communities. The volume also reports on several key scholarly events, including the second Inter-Polar Conference, which brought together Arctic and Third Pole researchers; the annual symposium for early-career scholars on Indigenous issues at Mid Sweden University; and the first Latin Polar Workshop, which promoted inclusive collaboration across regions.
Current Developments in Arctic Law is published annually by the UArctic Thematic Network on Arctic Law, in collaboration with the Northern Institute for Environmental and Minority Law at the Arctic Centre, University of Lapland, and the UArctic Chair in Arctic Legal Research and Education.
