Through an agreement between UArctic and the Danish Agency for Higher Education and Science (DAHES), UArctic offers funding opportunities for collaborative research projects anchored in a UArctic Thematic Network and including a minimum of three partner institutions of which two must be from within Greenland, Faroe Islands and Denmark.
This Kingdom of Denmark-funding has existed since 2019 and has funded three projects a year. As of 2025, DAHES has doubled the funding to now 3 million DKK a year, allowing for six annually funded projects. From 2027, the DAHES funding will include the possibility of overhead.
See current and previous calls below for specific call information and application criteria.
The agreement between UArctic and DAHES underscores the importance of investment in academic research in the Arctic and is a prime example of how funding from Arctic actors directly contributes to academic opportunities, capacity building and research production in our region.
