Italian Society for International Organization

SIOI is an international non-profit organization that has been operating since 1944 subject to the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s supervision. It is the Italian Association for the United Nations (UNA Italy), a founding member of the World Federation of the United Nations Associations (WFUNA) and member of the Forum of Deans and Directors of Diplomatic Academies and Institutes of International Relations in Vienna. SIOI represents and coordinates a membership of over 100 national United Nations Associations and their thousands of members. Its mission is to spread knowledge of international policy issues, to foster European unification and to enhance the protection of human rights. SIOI works to build a better world by strengthening and improving the United Nations through the engagement of people who share a global mindset and support international cooperation–global citizens.

The Honorary President is Giorgio Napolitano, the President Emeritus of the Italian Republic. The President is Franco Frattini, former Minister of Foreign Affairs. The Director General is Dr. Sara Cavelli.
