Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) scientists propose creating Arctic campus for research groups in the region. Scientific base will be located in cities of Pevek and Anadyr in Chukotka, says the director of the School of Engineering FEFU Alexander Bekker.



The Chair of UArctic's Board of Governors, Brian Rogers of the University of Alaska Fairbanks, will attend the conference on Global Leadership in the Arctic (GLACIER), in Anchorage, Alaska from August 30-31, 2015. The conference is organized by the US State Department, and President Obama will also be in attendance.

International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples is celebrated annually on 9 August. On this day 1992 was organized the first meeting of the UN Working Group on Indigenous Populations. The holiday emphasizes the richness and variety of indigenous cultures and the contribution they make to the family of nations of the world.
