RELATE NORTH is a collaboration between the UArctic’s Thematic Network on Arctic Sustainable Arts and Design (ASAD), Nord University Faculty of Education and Arts, University of Lapland and Helgeland Museum. This will be the seventh symposium in the series hosted by ASAD. The symposium is held November 6-8 in Nesna, Norway. 

Italian Society for International Organization is organising an International Symposium on Arctic Connections: Italy and Norway in the Arctic, between Cooperation and Future Challenges in collaboration with the University of Bodo and the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Rome. The symposium is held September 18 in Rome. 

The All-Russian Scientific Forum with international participation "Arctic: society, science and law" will take place October 23-24, 2018 at the St. Petersburg State University. Michelle Saunders, a 22-year-old recent Memorial University bachelor of science graduate (with a concentration in ecology and conservation) is an Inuit woman from Happy Valley-Goose Bay, whose family is originally from Davis Inlet, Rigolet, and other Inuit communities in Labrador.

Today UArctic Congress 2018 concluded in Helsinki featuring addresses by President Tarja Halonen of Finland, and a closing panel looking at the goals of the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development with a particular focus on gender equality and climate change.





Following today's sessions in Oulu - which include both the Education and Connectivity keynote plenaries - UArctic Congress 2018 moves on to Helsinki, hosted by the University of Helsinki.
