The Logistics Manager has the day-to-day responsibility for the logistics team, operating the station, ensuring a safe environment for guests and personnel as well as the safety of the station and its many facilities while operating at full capacity during the open season (typically April through October, with peak season from June to September). The Logistics Manager is part of the Zackenberg Research Station management board, consisting also of the Scientific Leader and the Scientific Coordinator.

The logistics group includes management of two full time logisticians and a number of seasonal personnel and consultants (e.g., specialists, technicians, cooks). To support the scientific activities, the work is carried out in close collaboration with AU researchers and external partners.

The successful candidate will have proven skills from running similar logistics operations in polar regions, a bachelor's degree, a master's degree or similar in logistics or natural science, and a contractor’s license with subsequent management experience or other relevant training for ensuring a safe and professional operation of an Arctic research station. Applicants should have practical experience with logistics work and research support in either the Arctic or Antarctic and be used to working across academic environments in an international research context.
