UArctic Thematic Networks form a natural framework for development of UArctic education and research providing an optimal structure for increasing the knowledge generation and sharing across the North.

Empowered by local knowledge and international level academic expertise, they facilitate development of multidisciplinary solutions for challenges in the Arctic. Currently there are 56 Thematic Networks working on several topics (https://www.uarctic.org/activities/thematic-networks/) and first step should always be to first look if proposed idea of new Thematic Network is already included to one of the existing Thematic Networks.

If the focus of planned new Thematic Network is novel and not included in the existing Thematic Networks, now is time to prepare the proposal. The deadline for the new Thematic Network proposals is February 28th, 2023. However, before submitting the proposal please be in contact with UArctic Vice President Networks Kirsi Latola (contact information below), for making sure that all aspects required at met in the proposal.
