Cities in the Arctic encounter distinctive challenges when it comes to improving solid waste management, owing to their small population, remote and isolated locations, financial constraints, and extreme climatic conditions. This lecture will discuss solid waste management practices in northern Russian and Norwegian cities, highlighting prospects for addressing present and future challenges.
