Prof. Päivi Naskali who is the Lead of this project and Lead of the Thematic Network “Ageing and Gender in the Arctic” opened the workshop: “It is nice to meet you face to face in this snowy Lappish surrounding to have inspiring discussions”.

The project has just hosted its first hybrid-format international workshop in Loma-Vietonen, Finnish Lapland, on November 25-26, 2021. 10 participants from Finland, Canada, and Iceland spent 2 days at the venue and the rest of the group joined virtually.

The project meeting included 8 presentations and detailed group discussion of the proposed book chapters of forthcoming book which has been accepted by the Routledge.  Participants also were agreeing on the next important milestones: the deadline for the final manuscript, the date for the 2nd workshop, and other relevant issues concerning the project.
